Alexa Thoen is a visual artist located in Kaneohe that makes pieces celebrating the beauty of the 'aina, documenting endangered species, and perpetuating Native Hawaiian culture. Through her work she weaves a story to preserve the intricate beauty of places and creature in time. Each of her original designs is created by hand in digital media using vectors and then printed on canvas in limited editions of three.
Her work is currently on exhibit at the Lyon Arboretum in Manoa and has been on display at multiple venues throughout the state of Hawaii. She has won awards both locally and nationally, been published, and is a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design
When She isn't working on her artwork she enjoys hiking, beachcombing, and writing about the many cultural evens on Oahu. She seeks to bring joy and share aloha through her art.
